Response from Chris Calvert

1. As the cottonwoods along the bosque continue to die,
many residents believe that our river is being sacrificed
to overdevelopment. Would you actively support legislation
requiring the city to manage the Santa Fe Canyon reservoirs
so that enough water is released from McClure Dam to
guarantee a constant flow in the river? Please answer yes
or no.

Yes. This will probably be more feasible when Buckman comes
online.

2. Many District 1 and 2 residents are concerned with the
negative impact infill development is having on our
neighborhoods. Would you support legislation to discourage
more infill in the historic districts by restricting lot
splits and prohibiting timeshares and condominiums? Please
answer yes or no.

YES

3. Traffic problems in Districts 1 and 2 grow worse every
year. Banning large commercial buses and semi-trailer
trucks from the Historic Districts would improve the
quality of life and provide business opportunities for
smaller locally-owned delivery and tour companies. Would
you support such a ban? Please answer yes or no.

YES, with the possible exception of morning deliveries.

4. The air quality in Santa Fe continues to deteriorate.
Would you support legislation requiring vehicle emission
inspections similar to those currently enforced in
Albuquerque? Please answer yes or no.

YES, but we might have a legal battle over jurisdiction,
with the State.

5. Many residents have recently complained that the city's
ordinance against short-term rentals is not being enforced.
As a councilor would you take action to ensure that the law
currently on the books is not weakened and that it is
vigorously enforced? Please answer yes or no.

YES
