GREVEY TRACT DEVELOPMENT

Following opposition expressed upon presentation of plans to develop houses in the Santa Fe Watershed, the developer pledged that there would be no development of any kind in the Watershed. We have emphasized that this includes no visual or other intrusion into the watershed. The Developer promised that as soon as new plans are prepared, we shall be permitted to examine them. We are still waiting to see the new plans. Our thanks to Councilors Heldmeyer, Pfeffer, Wurzburger and Bushee for their support. For more information, contact Karen Bailey 983-9714.

KLEIN EASEMENT LITIGATION

The State Court sustained the decision of the City Council that the developer was not entitled to an easement over City parkland and not entitled to a driveway permit. Daniel Yohalem again did an excellent job presenting the case. The Developers request to appeal to the Court of Appeals was denied. Still to come are requests to appeal to the Supreme Court of New Mexico and Federal litigation, but the odds that the driveway will be permitted are now very small and getting smaller. For more information contact Richard Ellenberg 992-1396.

Santa Fe River Project. Many of the elms and other invasive species along the River in Cerro Gordo Park have been cut and removed. There will be future clean up efforts, and we need to keep the City from killing the River and its plants by denying it water. If interested, please contact Peter Wolf 660-6980.

Water treatment plant. The City is planning construction at the water treatment plant. At the Board meeting on Monday November 8, 5:30 P.M. at Randall Davey Audubon they will present plans to replace and improve the filter system. They are also working on plans to improve security, and promise that the result will not be an eyesore or intrusive upon the neighbors. They will keep us informed as their planning progresses. For information contact Richard Ellenberg 992-1396
